Carolyn Chu, JV Program Manager
Carolyn is originally from San Francisco, CA but has lived in many cities throughout California. She studied Environmental Science at Santa Clara University where she first discovered service and reflection through the Santa Clara Community Action Program and spring break immersion trips. She then became a JV as the L’Arche Farms and Gardens Assistant in Tacoma, WA cultivating both plants and relationships with adults with developmental disabilities, and then served an additional year as the House Coordinator in the Gresham, OR community, hosting a day space for folks living on the streets. After her JV years, Carolyn worked at a community clinic, coordinating volunteer medical professionals to provide health services for uninsured patients. Carolyn’s interests include arts, crafts, graphic novels, board games, non-traditional sports, sunny days, and being an aunt. Carolyn is excited to return to JVC Northwest as a Program Coordinator to accompany JVs throughout their service year!
