Strengthening Community Impact in Juneau for the Future

At Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest, we support our volunteers in developing a life-long commitment to social and ecological justice. This starts with their service year led by the communities and individuals with whom they serve.

To support our Juneau Jesuit Volunteers’ success and engagement with a service that does justice, we purchased the Bishop Michael Kenny House, located within walking distance of downtown Juneau.

Since 1975, Jesuit Volunteers (JVs) have been a vital part of the Juneau community. By helping support the purchase of our volunteer house, you ensure that we remain rooted in Juneau for years to come. Your contribution directly strengthens our ability to serve and collaborate with local partner agencies that benefit greatly from hosting a JV.

Invest in Our Juneau JV House

Owning our house provides stability for our JVs, who live simply and receive a modest stipend. Your support helps us offer affordable living accommodations without taking away low-cost housing units from the community.

Together, we can proudly embrace our commitment to the Juneau community. Your support ensures that we continue making a meaningful differenc

Mission and Values

Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest responds to local community needs in the Northwest by recruiting, placing, and supporting volunteers who provide value-centered service grounded in the Jesuit Catholic tradition.

Honoring the Divine at work in all things, we envision the Northwest as a sustainable region where all live in dignity, are treated justly and equitably, and actively contribute to their own empowerment and positive change in their communities.

Community is one of our core values. Jesuit Volunteers bring a wealth of benefits to the Juneau community through their service. They work with local organizations to address social, educational, and environmental needs, enriching the lives of residents and enhancing community services.

The purchase will allow us to continue our valuable collaborations with partner agencies in Juneau, which have been instrumental in the success of our programs and the positive experiences of our volunteers.
