Anne Douglas, Director of Development (she/her)
A native Texan, I was thrilled to land in Oregon and at JVC Northwest in 2015 after many years working in nonprofit and higher education settings in Texas, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida. Prior to my role as Director of Development, I spent 10 years in philanthropy as a program director and officer for a community foundation and private foundation. My experiences as a women’s studies major at Tulane University and graduate student in social work at Bryn Mawr College cemented my passion for and commitment to social justice and decision to build my career in the nonprofit sector. I am so grateful to be a part of an organization that shares my values of community, simple living, social and ecological justice, and spirituality/reflection. I enjoy being a member of our Eco-Justice Committee, which seeks to inspire, educate, and empower our staff and wider JVC Northwest community to live out our core value of ecological justice. As Director of Development, I am honored to be invited into the stories of our wonderful former volunteers and other supporters, to learn what inspires them to give, and how we can help them meet their philanthropic goals.
I am a proud mama of two wonderful kids. My son, Alex, is a college student at Willamette University, and my daughter, Kara, attends Seattle University. Our family continues to be enriched as we navigate communal living in a multi-generational household, which also includes a standard poodle and a very rambunctious, but loveable, Collie puppy. When not working with our dynamo staff, volunteers, and supporters, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, watching movies, trying new restaurants, hiking, and exploring all the natural beauty that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
