Greg Ouellette, Program Coordinator

I use pronouns he, him, his, and I share a hometown with Abigail Adams, John Adams, and Dunkin Donuts (Quincy, MA)!  The seeds for my interests in service and spirituality were planted early at Boston College High School, during which time I participated in retreats, volunteered at a day care, and coached youth basketball.  After graduating from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, I joined JVC Northwest as a JV in Spokane, where I served as an Operations Specialist at House of Charity.  I then returned to Casa Bayanihan, an alternative semester abroad program through the University of San Francisco and located in Manila, Philippines, (where I spent one semester during college).  As a Community Coordinator with Casa Bayanihan, I lived in intentional community with students, accompanying and supporting them, co-creating community and spirituality/reflection activities, and helping with the program.

In my free time, you might find me collecting and reusing gray water, hang drying clothes, unplugging unused appliances, turning off lights, sitting with gratitude, mixing laundry soap, biking to an employee owned and regional grocery store, or training for the next Bloomsday (the largest, timed, 12k, road race!).  My self-care practices include playing and watching sports, reading, hiking, playing board games, and many other interests.  I enjoy inside jokes, and when inside jokes become outside jokes.  I continue to feel grateful for the JVC Northwest values and opportunities to live into them.  Drawing on my three and a half years of volunteering as an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B) and my energy for games and trivia, I serve on the Safety Committee and the Fun Committee, in the JVC Northwest office.  I am excited for the one, wild, and precious gift of getting things done for America as a Program Coordinator, and I continue to delight in accompanying JVs taking their talents to the Northwest United States of America!
