Jess, Area Director for Omak, Yakima, and Wenatchee shares the following:
This year JVC Northwest is excited to be opening houses in two new places – Wenatchee and St. Xavier! JVs have served in St. Xavier in the past, and now four are returning to St. X to start a house in this community on the Crow Indian Reservation, located in south central Montana. This year the JVs are hoping to create an after school program while they serve as Academic Supports at Pretty Eagle Catholic Academy.
In addition to this new Montana community, four JVs have recently arrived in Wenatchee, WA, to begin the first JV house in “the Apple Capital of the World.” Led by several FVJs, the local community strongly advocated for JVC Northwest to open a house in Wenatchee, and after much hard work they are excited to welcome their first group of Jesuit Volunteers.
Be sure to check out the photos of all the JVC Northwest communities from Orientation – they are now available through the JVC Northwest Flicker account. Click on the pictures to the right to view and download!
Do you have pictures from a long ago orientation to share? Post them on Flickr or send them to Leah at lnusse@jvcnorthwest.org.
