seattle & portland 60th anniversary events

JVC Northwest’s 60th anniversary celebrations are already underway but our two biggest celebratory events will be taking place in the coming months. Read on to learn about the details of our big Seattle and Portland gatherings, taking place May 14 and June 18, respectively.

First, a little history; the annual JVC Northwest fundraising gathering began with our 50th anniversary celebrations in 2006. A tireless group of dedicated former JVs stepped up to organize the events, and with the help of staff were able to put on our first major fundraising events in both Seattle and Portland.

These first gatherings, bolstered by the enthusiasm of former JVs from across Washington, Oregon, and beyond, were the most successful fundraising events in our organization’s history, and more importantly, provided the opportunity for former JVs to convene, connect with one another, and reflect on the impact of their year(s) of service.

With the 60th Anniversary and our two major upcoming gatherings, we are inviting the entire JVC Northwest family, and former JVs in particular, to rediscover the Jesuit Volunteer experience, reconnect with JVC Northwest and their community, and recommit to the core values of simple living, community, spirituality, and social and ecological justice.
