Rooted in Service Portland Event

Rooted in Service: A JVC Northwest Community Gathering in Portland

Saturday, Nov. 8 from 4–6 PM at Rossi Farms, Northeast Portland

Registration is now closed. You can give to support the event now.

You’re warmly invited to a soulful, community-centered fall evening in Portland—open to all ages and all members of our extended JVC Northwest community.

This is a family-friendly event, so children are more than welcome! We’ll have corn hole, sidewalk chalk, and coloring sheets available to help keep young ones entertained throughout the evening.

Together, we’ll honor Jack Kennedy for his decades of service and spiritual leadership, celebrating the impact he’s had on generations of Jesuit Volunteers, JV EnCorps members, and the broader community.

This gathering is rooted in simplicity and connection, reflecting the unique spirit of Portland and the core values that guide JVC Northwest: simple living, social and ecological justice, spirituality and reflection, and community. Distinct from our Seattle Benefit, this event is designed to grow into a beloved annual tradition.

Expect storytelling, music, and meaningful connection around a symbolic campfire, while raising vital funds to support JVC Northwest’s mission across the Pacific Northwest.

Children under 12 are free and can be registered here. Children 12 and older can be registered here at the reduced rate of $35.

Why We Gather

We gather to celebrate the spirit of service, deepen our connections, and raise essential funds to sustain JVC Northwest’s work. This is more than an event—it’s a chance to nourish our Portland community and honor the legacy of those who’ve shaped it.

Can’t Attend? You Can Still Support the Movement.

If you’re unable to join us in person, we invite you to make a gift in honor of Jack Kennedy and the spirit of service that defines JVC Northwest.

Your donation helps sustain our work across the Pacific Northwest and ensures gatherings like this continue to nourish our community.
